Gaur

The Indian Gaur (Bos gaurus) is the largest of all wild cattle. Standing 1.6 to 2.2 m (5.4 to 7.2 ft) high at the shoulder it beats out bison and buffalo in size. Bulls, like the one pictured, have very large dewlaps and ridges on their backs. The gaur is found through out Southern Asia and India. Listed as vulnerable, it's main threat is hunting.


I love these animals humps and their colouring. Such powerful animals. This one is a bit more of a boring pose than the water buffalo
